Royu Driveway, beautiful scenary in each season
Royu Driveway conects Ashiya City to Arima Onsen, as known the hot spring resort located Suburbs of Kansai and also famous for the frequent visits of TAIKO HIDEYOSHI (Toyotomi Hideyoshi: retired regent) in the 16th century. It is a safe road with a total length of 10 km that drive in about 20 minutes in the scenery surrounded by the nature of Mt.Rokko. You can enjoy a slow and comfortable driving while seeing seasonal landscapes, such as cherry trees, new green leaves, hydrangeas, autumn foliage, and snowscape. With relatively little traffic, you will be able to drive smoothly and arrive at your destination as planned. Along the way, there is East Rokko Observation Platform located at an altitude of 646 meters, from which you can see a breathtaking panoramic view of the Osaka Plain, Osaka Bay, and Port of Kobe to the west unfolding before your eyes. The view was also chosen as one of the “Top 100 Night Views” and “Night View Heritages of Japan.” It is also known as a location for the TV drama “Hanzawa Naoki,” and is famous for its beautiful night view, which can be enjoyed from inside the car.
Located in the Rokko area of the Seto Inland Sea National Park, the Royu Driveway is an about 10-kilometer road surrounded by rich nature. With moderate windings and good road surface conditions, the road strongly appeals to those who love driving. This place was used as a location for the popular TV drama “Hanzawa Naoki”. It is possible to enjoy tea and meals at a café inside “East Rokko Observation Space”.
This is one of the four observation space on the Royu Driveway. The viewing space located at an altitude of 645 meters has the best view in East Rokko and is an excellent night view spot. The visibility is open 160 degrees to the east. You can see the illuminations of the Itami Airport, and Hanshin racetrack to the east, buildings in Umeda to the southeast, Kansai International Airport too the south, and Kobe Airport to the south-southwest. These night view looks like a sea of illuminations. You can see a magnificent and robust sunrise in the morning and an evening view that changes its color fantastically and beautifully in the evening. Above all, the contrast between a starry sky, night views, and the port is designated as one of the “Top 100 Night Views” and “Night View Heritages of Japan”, and making it a breathtaking spot. You will also release the shutter involuntarily.
“Okuike Asobi no Hiroba” is a greenery open space of 15,600 square meters located in beautiful red pine groves on the lakeside of Okuike Pond. Despite its proximity to the central area of Ashiya City, it is a place where people can talk with nature and other people, communicate with their family members and regain a shining moment in their precious life. There are many ways to enjoy the facility, such as a barbecue site and a playing field for children. Seeing the seasonal scenery, you can enjoy leisure as much as you like in nature.
